Proficiency 4g: Foreign Language
Domestic Â鶹´«Ã½s
Domestic Â鶹´«Ã½s with catalog year prior to fall 2017 can meet the world language requirement by any of the following:
1) 2 years of the same language in high school with a grade of B- or better in the final semester, as verified on the Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s actual high school transcript;
OR
2) Take a placement test and go into 2000+ world language class;
OR
3) Take two semesters at the college-level of the same world language (for example, SPAN 1000 and SPAN 1010; or GREK 1000 and GREK 1010; or SIGN 1010 and SIGN 1020);
OR
4) If a Â鶹´«Ã½ only completes the second semester language class (because they placed higher than the first semester), it satisfies the requirement.
Domestic Â鶹´«Ã½s with a catalog year of fall 2017 and later can meet the world language requirement by:
1) Prove language proficiency at the 2000 level or higher by taking the in-person proficiency test at the SPAN or LANG departments and placing at the 2000 level;
2) Take two semesters at the college-level of the same world language (for example, SPAN 1000 and SPAN 1010; or GREK 1000 and GREK 1010; or SIGN 1010 and SIGN 1020).

International Â鶹´«Ã½s – have already met the College’s world language requirement, regardless of their catalog year.
