To graduate from the College of Arts and Sciences at Â鶹´«Ã½ all Â鶹´«Ã½s need to do the following:
Complete your pre-audit for graduation approximately one year prior to your anticipated graduation date or once you have completed 88 credit hours. Applying early is important to be able to plan out remaining requirements with less chance of delaying your degree completion.
Make sure all AP, IB and transfer course information has been submitted to the Office of Admissions for evaluation.
Follow instructions below for your catalog year.
Catalog year 2010 to present
Visit your major and minor departmental advisors. They will need to update and verify your major/minor information (including any exceptions or substitutions) in Degree Works before you may proceed to the next step.
Once approved, you will do the official application located in your GoWMU portal. From your "Â鶹´«Ã½ home" tab select Academic Services. Then select Application for Graduation.
In the graduation application screen, you will verify how you want your name to appear on your diploma, select your anticipated graduation term from the drop-down menu, click the box verifying that all of your information is correct and that you understand a $55 fee will be placed on your account, and then click the submit application button.
A graduation auditor from the Office of the Registrar will examine your academic record and provide you with an official audit outlining things you need to complete before graduation. They ask that you allow up to four weeks for this to be processed. It will be sent to your WMU email address.
Catalog year 2009 or earlier
Visit your major and minor departmental advisors. They will provide you with paper copies of your major/minor slips.
Meet with a liberal education curriculum advisor in the College of Arts and Sciences undergraduate advising office to fill out the application for graduation. You must bring your paper major and minor slips with you to this meeting.
Submit the packet given to you by the CAS advisor to the Office of the Registrar (in person - 3210 Seibert Administration Building or via mail - Office of the Registrar, Â鶹´«Ã½, 1903 W Michigan Ave, Kalamazoo MI 49008-5256 USA).
