College Visits
Participating Schools: Please contact our office if you would like us to schedule and coordinate a campus visit to Â鶹´«Ã½ or any Michigan college or university of interest at (269) 387-3366 or @email. We can host up to two college visit per GEAR UP high school; preferably one in the fall and one in the spring (Dates to be determined by school).
- October 30, 2024: WMU GEAR UP hosts college visits for MSU GEAR UP participants at Â鶹´«Ã½
- October 31, 2024: WMU GEAR UP hosts college visits for MSU GEAR UP participants at Â鶹´«Ã½
- December 6, 2024: GEAR UP Fennville High School at Â鶹´«Ã½
- February 20, 2025: GEAR UP Hartford High School at Grand Valley State University
- March 21, 2025: GEAR UP Hartford High School at Ferris State University
Tutoring
- Tutoring at Kalamazoo Central High School on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the school library, from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. Tutoring sessions will begin Tuesday, September 24, 2024 and will continue until April 2025. Tutoring at Kalamazoo Central is a collaborative effort with the Office of Pre-College Programming and Upward Bound.

- January - April 2025: GEAR UP school drives for senior nominations to Michigan Student AID (SSGO) and Michigan Education Trust (MET) award Â鶹´«Ã½
Student Leadership and Career Activities
- February 28, 2025: GEAR UP hosts Schools to Tools Career Mobile Bus at Benton Harbor HS
- March 2025: DAPCEP STEM Day (Collaborative event with DAPCEP and GVSU GEAR UP)
- March 7 - 9, 2025: GEAR UP Â鶹´«Ã½s at MI-CAPP Student Leadership Summit
- April 11, 2025: GEAR UP Â鶹´«Ã½s at "Careers Across Hospital" event, Ascension Borgess Hospital (collaborative effort with Western Regional Community Consortium, Michigan Area Health Education Center)
- April 25, 2025: GEAR UP Â鶹´«Ã½s at "Skilled Hands: Exploring Clinical Careers in Sutures, Casting, and Phlebotomy!" event (collaborative effort with Western Regional Community Consortium, Michigan Area Health Education Center)
Summer Program
- June 23 - 26, 2025: College Tour by charter bus, outside of the state of Michigan.
- July 28 - 31, 2025: College Tour by charter bus, outside of the state of Michigan.
