Orientation Breakout Session Descriptions

An academic advisor will give a general overview of how advising works at Â鶹´«Ã½ as well as information regarding GoWMU and the pre-audit/graduation application.

Students will have an opportunity to engage and learn more about the WMU campus climate and culture through short conversations.
 

A representative from Bronco Express will explain the financial aid process, discuss financing options, talk about the billing and payment process, and answer your questions.
 

Come to the Bronco Social room to meet other incoming Â鶹´«Ã½s and current Â鶹´«Ã½s.  Get answers to some of your questions in this laid-back environment.
 

This is your chance to learn a little more about some of the many programs and services available to Â鶹´«Ã½s at WMU.  You can even pick up some cool swag!

WMU takes the safety and security of Â鶹´«Ã½s very seriously.  Learn about some of the many programs and services from across campus.

Learn about full-time, part-time and internship Â鶹´«Ã½ on and off campus. This session will explain WMU’s web-based employment service – Handshake – and the resources for career planning that are available throughout the academic year. You will also Learn about this Â鶹´«Ã½ engagement program for Â鶹´«Ã½s to reflect on their out-of-class learning experiences, to explore and identify a passion that will be reflected on their WMU diploma.

Students from the Lee Honors College will host a panel to share their experiences with you.  You will have the opportunity to ask them questions related to the WMU Â鶹´«Ã½ experience.

The Title IX Coordinator will share how to get involved in the University-wide effort to end all forms of sexual misconduct. 

You will have a chance to hear about some of the many research activities and Â鶹´«Ã½ available to honors Â鶹´«Ã½s. 
 

You will get a chance to hear from a number of senior administrators from across campus. There will time for questions too!

Learn about what to expect this fall with your housing experience and move-in, as well as details about dining and on and off-campus meal plans.

Whether you live on camps or not, you are part of the Â鶹´«Ã½ community. This presentation will help you explore how you can become actively engaged within your community, while learning about various standards that we value at WMU.
