Resources
WMU Study Abroad provides the following resources to help you be successful in your study abroad journey:
Helpful WMU Support Offices
Bronco Express—Students should check their Â鶹´«Ã½ account to verify there are no charges due or holds on the account that could prevent Study Abroad from being able to register them for classes.
Career and Student Employment Services—Get advice on how to effectively reflect a study abroad experience on a resume or in job interviews.
Faculty mentors—Many faculty members serving on WMU's International Education Council of the Faculty Senate have international backgrounds and are available to help Â鶹´«Ã½s prepare to study abroad and to have a beneficial re-entry experience. Students seeking a mentor within their academic major are advised to meet with the department chair of the major to learn which faculty are available.
Registrar's Office—The Study Abroad office will process transcripts from terms spent abroad. View the Study Abroad Transcripts page for comprehensive information. Visit the Registrar's Office online to request a graduation audit.
Sindecuse Health Center—Students may have experienced some minor discomfort related to the local food, climate, etc., while studying abroad and after they return to the United States. Students experiencing symptoms who have returned to campus are advised to make an appointment at the Sindecuse Health Center. Students who are not immediately returning to campus after studying abroad are advised to make an appointment with their primary care physician for any health concerns. Students should let health care providers know immediately that they have recently returned from a trip outside the U.S.
Student Financial Aid and Scholarships—Students planning to study abroad are advised to meet with a financial aid advisor upon their return to campus to discuss the financial aid package available for subsequent semesters and any issues with the Â鶹´«Ã½'s account related to their term of study abroad.
University Counseling Services—There is an adjustment period after experiencing a life-changing event such as study abroad. University Counseling Services can help Â鶹´«Ã½s process their experience. The counseling center staffs professionally trained, fully licensed psychologists and counselors.
