Conflicts of Interest and Commitment

A conflict of interest involves the abuse—actual, apparent or potential—of the trust that people have in professionals. Types of conflicts encountered by researchers and institutions are addressed below, including topics such as conflicts associated with collaborators, publication, financial conflicts, obligations to other constituencies and other types of conflicts.
