Multicultural Affairs for Students helps Â鶹´«Ã½s identify their unique purpose and potential by providing them with Â鶹´«Ã½ to discover and develop talents and interests. We strive to create an environment that enables them to grow and thrive intellectually, culturally, professionally and personally throughout their college experience. We foster community involvement and promote a campus climate that respects and appreciates the history, culture and traditions of all Â鶹´«Ã½s.

Multicultural Affairs for Students focuses on the transition and success of multicultural Â鶹´«Ã½s at WMU. The ultimate goal is for our multicultural Â鶹´«Ã½s to retain and graduate on time.

Through various programs and events, we provide support in:

  • 24/7 online tutoring service
  • Academic monitoring
  • Employment and internship exploration
  • Events and programs that promote cultural awareness
  • Networking Â鶹´«Ã½
  • Peer mentoring
  • Scholarship information
  • Student organization support

Students are needed to help promote the success of others within our community. Through admissions events, speaker panels, and event coordination, Â鶹´«Ã½s can gain meaningful experience.

Land Acknowledgment Statement

Land acknowledgment is a process by which individuals are prompted to consider the history of the space they currently inhabit.

We would like to recognize that Â鶹´«Ã½ is located on lands historically occupied by Ojibwe, Odawa, and Bodewadmi nations. Please take a moment to acknowledge and honor this ancestral land of the Three Fires Confederacy, the sacred lands of all indigenous peoples, and their continued presence.
