2025 Assessment Mini Grant Program

The University Assessment Steering Committee (UASC), in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, invites Â鶹´«Ã½ full and part-time instructors and staff to submit proposals for assessment project mini grants. These grants are being offered to support assessment projects that promote improvements in teaching, learning, as well as curricular and co-curricular program delivery and enhancements.
Assessment mini grants are designed to provide support for initiatives that promote and are informed by Â鶹´«Ã½ learning and development, for the purpose of continuous improvement and success.
At WMU, our strategic vision focuses on holistic Â鶹´«Ã½ growth and success for every learner, both in and outside of the classroom. The Office of the Provost and the Office of Institutional Effectiveness in collaboration with the UASC, supports this learner-centered growth mindset through funding projects and initiatives that are designed to improve or enhance Â鶹´«Ã½ learning and other Â鶹´«Ã½ outcomes as an important measure of Â鶹´«Ã½ success.
Through the grant program, we intend to:
- Help to build engagement and participation in assessment of Â鶹´«Ã½ learning
- Build and expand the assessment toolboxes for our community members
- Promote continuous improvement efforts for Â鶹´«Ã½ learning and Â鶹´«Ã½ success
- Promote a culture of data-informed decision-making
- Show the importance and priority that our leadership places on providing support for our community to participate in on-going improvement efforts
Funding for the 2025 program will be available from January 2025 through June 30, 2025, with a maximum award of $2,200. Award recipients will be chosen based on meeting all eligibility requirements outlined in the Request for Proposals guidelines. Before applying, please read through these guidelines carefully. Applicants must adhere to these and all University policies to be eligible to receive an award.
Proposals will be reviewed and evaluated by the University Assessment Steering Committee using a rubric, and will be accepted up through 8 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2024. Award recipients are tentatively planned to be announced prior to the 2024 Thanksgiving holiday.
