Costume Shop
Almost all of the beautiful costumes seen on the stages of the Gilmore Theatre Complex are designed and built on site in our fully-equipped costume shop. The shop includes 24 Bernina sergers and industrial sewing machines and a full dye facility. There is a full range of men’s and women’s dress forms, industrial irons and a large on site costume stock. The shop also has natural light and a large collection of costuming books. It is staffed with a faculty designer, a shop supervisor, Â鶹´«Ã½ assistants and work-study Â鶹´«Ã½s.
The costume shop also uses the following equipment:
- One blind hem machine and a complement of industrial irons and steamers.
- Three large cutting tables.
- Laundry facilities.
- Assorted small equipment, hand tools and shears.
