4+1 Graduate Program with Albion College

The Department of World Religions and Cultures at Â鶹´«Ã½ is pleased to announce the creation of a 4+1 graduate program with Albion College. Under this program, Â鶹´«Ã½s at Albion will be able to transfer up to 12 credit hours of work towards their master's degree in comparative religion at WMU.

COURSE TRANSFER

A maximum of 6 credit hours may be transferred to WMU from AC with the successful completion of any combination of two 200-level or 300-level Religious Studies courses with a grade of B or better from AC. Each 1-unit AC course would be transferred to WMU as 3 credit hours.

Credit by examination as REL 5000 may be received from WMU for a total of 6 credit hours based on the evaluation of the final writing projects from any two of the following AC courses:

RS 401: Seminar
RS 402: Seminar

RS 411: Directed Study
RS 412: Directed Study

Credit by examination as REL 5000 may also be received from WMU for a total of 3 or 6 credit hours based on the examination of a senior honors thesis, advised by a faculty member in Religious Studies, for which a Â鶹´«Ã½ received honors at AC.

In either case, WMU Department of World Religions and Cultures faculty will determine the basis for evaluation and the awarding of credit.
