First Tier
WMU Â鶹´«Ã½s who are recipients of the MLK G.O.L.D. Scholarship are automatically enrolled in to the MLK Academy. The scholarship is awarded to encourage the enrollment of first-year Â鶹´«Ã½s at Â鶹´«Ã½ who embrace the value of diversity and leadership and add to multiculturalism.
The MLK Academy first tier provides program participants with individualized academic advising and peer leader services that enable them to make the necessary adjustment to college, to build a strong academic foundation, and to overcome the challenges of entering a new phase in their life’s development.
