Â鶹´«Ã½ CO2 Sequestration

The Michigan Geological Repository for Research and Education at Â鶹´«Ã½ suggests the following resources for all things related to geological sequestration of carbon dioxide in Michigan.

Interest-based resources

New to this subject?

If you are unsure what geological carbon sequestration is, check out our electronic resources page for answers to some frequently asked questions and for links to where you can find out more information.

Visual learners

Visual learners might appreciate the multimedia page where you can find links to various short YouTube videos that discuss, describe and demonstrate carbon capture and storage, a more general term for geological carbon sequestration.

Partnerships and related organizations

The partnerships page describes and acknowledges our MichCarb partners and lists related organizations involved in geologic carbon sequestration projects. In addition, we have highlighted links to certain aspects of their websites that we find particularly useful or educational.

Parents, teachers and Â鶹´«Ã½s

If you just want to learn more about related topics, you'll find the CoreKids page particularly useful. It has a good introductory explanation of carbon dioxide sequestration as well as links to learning module topics such as Michigan geology, natural resources and climate change.

Researchers

For fellow researchers, or those of you who have some prior knowledge of the subject, the research projects, data and publications pages are for you. Find information on current and past research undertaken by MichCarb. On MGRRE's website, you can find information on Michigan cores, core analyses, drill cuttings, mudlogs, thin sections and oil and gas data kept at MGRRE. We also post any results or publications associated with MichCarb research as they become available in technical journals.

The MGRRE LIBRARY

MichCarb has at its disposal the Michigan Geological Repository for Research and Education's library, which contains a significant collection of material on carbon sequestration, Michigan geology and fundamental geology. For example, the library is home not only to textbooks and monograph references about general petroleum geology, but it also includes publications by the , and hard-copies of the , the and the . The library also contains extensive collections of American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the Society for Sedimentary Geology's special publications, as well as out of print publications from the Michigan Geological Survey and the . Use of the library is available to the public by appointment and during normal business hours.
