Audio-Visual Equipment
The Medieval Institute provides audio-visual equipment for sessions of the International Congress on Medieval Studies on the campus of Â鶹´«Ã½ if requested by the session organizer on or before Sept. 15. Late equipment requests can rarely be accommodated.
Please note that computers are not provided for traditional in-person sessions. Speakers in in-person sessions who wish to make presentations involving a computer are expected to bring their own laptops or to arrange to use a colleague's computer in advance.
Hybrid sessions are assigned to classrooms with built-in cameras and microphones. They are monitored by dedicated tech facilitators, and speakers in hybrid sessions will be asked to share any materials to be projected with the tech facilitators in advance.
Data Projectors
Data projectors in Sangren classrooms use wired VGA and HDMI connections. We encourage you to test your laptop with a projector using a VGA or HDMI connection before coming to the Congress. Most Mac users and any laptop user without a VGA or HDMI terminal will need to bring an adapter.
Data projectors in the Student Center use wireless connections via AirMedia. Detailed instructions are posted in each conference room. HDMI cables are available as a backup in Student Center 1024 (the Mosaic Meeting Room), 2207 and 3205.
Internet Access
Wireless access is available throughout the campus, indoors and out. Instructions to obtain access to WMU’s wireless network are included in registration packets. Those planning to use the internet during their presentations or to attend virtual or hybrid sessions will need to log onto the WMU Guest network on their laptops and other devices in advance of the session.
Technical Assistance
Congress personnel can provide assistance connecting to classroom audio-visual equipment before and during sessions. Online tech support will be present in all virtual and hybrid sessions as well.
