How to Apply
The National Endowment for the Humanities summer institute for higher education faculty "Law and Culture in Medieval England" is hosted by Â鶹´«Ã½.
Due to the ongoing health crisis, the institute is being held virtually. Activities will be conducted synchronously and asynchronously on the internet. All synchronous activities will occur on weekdays. There is no residential component.
Application process
All applicants must complete the online application, unless permission has been granted for an alternate submission process. Applications sent to the National Endowment for the Humanities will not be reviewed.
We recommend that you consult the Application Checklist before beginning your application, which must be completed in one online session.
Materials to be uploaded in the application process are:
- Curriculum vitae. Your curriculum vitae must include the names and email addresses of two professional references. You should tell your references that they may be contacted early in March to submit their letters of recommendation.
- Application essay. Note that the most important part of the application is the essay of no more than four double-spaced pages. This essay should include your reasons for applying to the institute; your relevant personal and academic information; your qualifications to do the work of the institute and contribute to it; and what you hope to accomplish.
Application timeline
The deadline for application was March 1, 2021
Applicants will be notified of their acceptance or non-acceptance on March 26, 2021.
Applicants chosen for participation must accept or decline by April 2, 2021.
Please note: Once an individual has accepted an offer to attend any NEH summer program, that individual may not accept an additional offer or withdraw in order to accept a different offer.
