Academics

Â鶹´«Ã½'s holistic health and contemplative well-being program offers four specialty graduate certificates (nine credit hours each) and an undergraduate minor.

  • Incorporate both didactic and experiential learning.

  • Provide a foundation in the integrative holistic health and wellness concept.

  • Support methods of putting knowledge into practice.

  • Foster self-awareness and sensitivity to others.

These academic programs introduce you to contemplative, complementary and alternative modalities at both an academic and experiential level, that promote optimal health and healing. You will be exposed to a variety of topics and encouraged to carefully evaluate the research on evidence-based holistic practices as well as utilize contemplative methodologies to increase their understanding. You will also be presented with a holistic framework for wellness, helping you make informed lifestyle choices and establish respectful, cooperative relationships with others and the environment.

Online or face-to-face

You can earn the undergraduate minor or graduate certificates online or on WMU's campus in Kalamazoo. Most of the elective courses, including independent studies, are offered in these formats on a rotating basis. Some electives are only offered in one format or the other.
