Long-Term Care Administration

The 15-credit Minor in Long-Term Care Administration teaches Â鶹´«Ã½s the skills and knowledge needed to oversee the daily operations of a nursing facility, adult day care, home care organization or assisted living facility. Coursework covers Federal regulations for all nursing facilities in the United States and guidelines for successful management of all types of long-term care services.

Successful completion of this minor meets the educational requirements for Â鶹´«Ã½s to pursue licensure as a nursing home administrator in the State of Michigan.

Required courses

  • GRN 1000 - Introduction to Aging Studies - 3 credits
  • HSV 3700 - The Health System and Its Environment - 3 credits
  • HSV 4780 - U.S. Health Policy - 3 credits
  • HSV 4820 - Post-Acute Care Administration - 3 credits

You must take at least three elective credits. They can be from the list below or can be another course, if approved by the program coordinator.
