Curriculum Development

The International Education Council, Office of the Provost, and the Diether H. Haenicke Institute for Global Education at Â鶹´«Ã½ are working together to increase global engagement across campus. One aspect of this is internationalizing the curriculum; the following links point to information and resources.

University and college global learning outcomes

WMU and several of its colleges have developed global learning outcomes to guide Â鶹´«Ã½s and faculty. Some of the college outcomes are from accrediting bodies; those that are not are guided by extensive research by national associations into the various dimensions of global learning that will enhance Â鶹´«Ã½'s preparation to enter a global workforce and to become lifelong learners and discoverers of the global community.

Global learning outcomes for academic units

For academic units seeking to develop disciplinary-specific global learning outcomes, start with university GLOs and your corresponding college GLOs. For more specificity, search for what similar academic units from other units from other institutions have done. For additional ideas, review this handout from the WMU Internationalization Workshop held in April 2014.
