Capital Projects
What is a capital project?
Capital Projects involve planning, design and construction by professional teams working with a variety of WMU stakeholder groups. These projects can have a focus on academic or residence life facilities, as well as campus infrastructure. Each capital project must reflect the University's strategic goals and objectives.

Other happenings
Crews will be on campus starting the week of April 10th to facilitate a new telecommunications pathway on campus. The pathway goes from the University Computing Center to the Campus Services Building by way of a bore beneath the railroad tracks and Stadium Drive. Turnkey Network Solutions will be on site beginning the make-ready portions, starting with the work shown on the east side of Stadium Drive. They will begin making ready between vaults T22 and T28, and then continue from T28 to CSB once they do the new underground work from T28 to T14. At the same time, they will begin work from the new cabinet at the corner of Howard and Stadium Drive, moving north to T22. They will wait until after Commencement to do work up near Waldo Library and UCC, at which time they will also begin the bore beneath the tracks and the road. This coincides with the lifting of the City of Kalamazoo’s moratorium. Work is expected to be complete in early August.
