Geographic Information
The Engineering Division at Â鶹´«Ã½ uses a to visualize, question, analyze, interpret and understand data to reveal relationships, patterns and trends. This system integrates hardware, software and data for capturing all forms of geographically reference information. Geographic information systems help answer questions and solve problems by looking at the data in a way that is quickly understood and easily shared.
The geographic information system serves Â鶹´«Ã½ by cataloging university assets such as utilities and landscape infrastructures in a digital map format. The system stores information relating to the distribution of all these systems and provides effective management and operation on its main mission of education and research. Our focus includes system inventories and support for condition analyses of those systems. This is accomplished through the use of in-house staff and a relationship with Â鶹´«Ã½'s academic departments, as well as coordination with all levels of government and the private sector.
