Bio:

Dr. Osama Abudayyeh, P.E. is a professor and chair of Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s Department of Civil and Construction Engineering. He earned degrees in civil engineering from North Carolina State University (Ph.D.), the University of California at Berkeley (M.Sc.) and Kuwait University (B.Sc.). Abudayyeh is a registered Professional Engineer in the states of Michigan, California and North Carolina. Prior to joining WMU, he was an assistant professor of civil engineering and construction at North Dakota State University (NDSU) and a bridge engineer in the Office of Structures at the California Department of Transportation. Abudayyeh’s research expertise and interests include asset management, innovative project delivery and contracting strategies, smart buildings, safety management, infrastructure management and health monitoring, non-destructive testing and evaluation, modeling and analysis of engineering data, and project control concepts and systems. He has been involved in numerous funded projects through grants and contracts exceeding $14 million from various federal, state and private sources such as the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), National Science Foundation (NSF), the US Department of Transportation, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), the Office of Highway Safety Planning (OHSP), local Michigan government (Calhoun County and the City of Benton Harbor) and private companies. He authored or co-authored more than 180 articles and technical reports published in nationally and internationally recognized journals and conference proceedings.
