If you had a campus job or internship, how did they impact your career development?
I interned at the YWCA, which equipped me with many of the skills needed in order to effectively assist clients. I loved my experience working at the shelter. I was able to learn how to balance my school, work, internship, and social life before being employed full time.
What activities, resources, or people helped you prepare for your career?
I would like to credit all of the social work professors I have had for their amazing work, but especially Patti Criswell and Sandra Bibliomo. These two professors are passionate about the work they do, and it shows.
What advice do you have for others pursuing a career similar to yours?
Some advice I would give is to take self care seriously! This profession is not easy and you NEED to know how to take care of yourself!
