WMU Well-being Wheel Definitions

Social Well-being:

Developing a sense of connection, belonging, and support with others. Contributing to an inclusive community.

Emotional Well-being:

Thriving while experiencing a diverse range of emotions, experiences, and vulnerabilities. Coping effectively with life and maintaining satisfying relationships. Managing and expressing feelings effectively.

Intellectual Well-being:

Exploring creative abilities and expanding knowledge and skills. Pursuing learning, professional development, problem-solving, cultural activities, interests, and hobbies.

Occupational Well-being:

>Finding personal satisfaction and enrichment in one’s work. Discovering individual strengths and seeking Â鶹´«Ã½ to utilize unique talents.

Spiritual Well-being:

Discovering a sense of purpose and meaning in life. Developing ethics, values, and a worldview. Aligning actions to be consistent with one’s beliefs and values.

Financial Well-being:

Developing knowledge and skills for managing financial decisions. Finding a balance between saving and spending.

Environmental Well-being:

Occupying and improving safe, healthy, and sustainable environments.

Physical Well-being:

Practicing healthy behaviors regarding physical activity, nutrition, sleep, substance use, sex, preventive exams, etc. Learning when to seek medical attention and managing chronic conditions.
