WMU Board of Trustees to consider new School of Environment, Geography and Sustainability, naming of Main Campus plaza during formal session Thursday

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—The Â鶹´«Ã½ Board of Trustees is set to meet at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 27, in the North Ballroom of the Bernhard Center to consider the merger of the Institute of the Environment and Sustainability and the Department of Geography, Environment and Tourism. The single unit within the College of Arts and Sciences would be called the School of Environment, Geography and Sustainability and current programs would transfer into the new school.

In addition, the board will consider approving several applications to the Michigan Liquor Control Commission for one-day liquor licenses that would permit alcohol service throughout Waldo Stadium on specific dates in 2023; formally naming the plaza in front of Sangren Hall; deletions, additions and renaming of several academic degree programs and certificates; and personnel updates.
