General summary
Conducts intake and trauma assessments, Autism evaluations, and outpatient therapy sessions. Coordinates care for clients in need of multiple services including with other service providers.
Major duties
- Provides tailored outpatient therapy sessions and uses evidence-based techniques and interventions. Creates detailed and individualized treatment plans. Maintains accurate and confidential client records and other relevant documentation.
- Conducts comprehensive assessments to better understand the clients’ mental health, family concerns, and relevant factors that may impact the client or family.
- Collaborates with healthcare providers to coordinate care through meetings, emails, and phone calls.
- Stays informed about the latest research, therapeutic techniques, and ethical standards in social work. Participates in training and professional development activities to further educational and professional development.
- Conducts comprehensive trauma assessments and Autism evaluations for clients and provides a detailed written report.
- Provides psychoeducation and training for relevant individuals.
- Provides clinical supervision to graduate trainees.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- One year's relevant experience.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in trauma assessment and treatment, as well as experience in the assessment and treatment of traumatized children and youth.
Required other
- Licensure as Master-level Social Worker (LLMSW or LMSW) in the State of Michigan or License Psychologist/Counselor.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
