General summary
Oversees and coordinates programs within Academic Success Programs. Monitors Â鶹´«Ã½s’ progress and provides academic support.
Major duties
- Holds individual meetings with Â鶹´«Ã½s to address concerns and answer questions.
- Provides academic advising to incoming and currently enrolled Â鶹´«Ã½s. Coaches and assists with goal setting for Â鶹´«Ã½s pursuing undergraduate degrees.
- Supports and coordinates programs within Academic Success Programs. Communicates with Â鶹´«Ã½s, staff, and administrators regarding the mission, purpose, and progress of these programs.
- Works with University offices to identify eligible Â鶹´«Ã½s for appropriate programs. Manages mailings to eligible Â鶹´«Ã½s, reviews applications, and refers applicants as needed. Oversees the orientation process.
- Collaborates with the University offices to identify eligible Â鶹´«Ã½s for appropriate scholarships. Coordinates the scholarship selection process.
- Identifies and coordinates activities and events to enrich the scholarship experience. Responsible for planning, attending, marketing, and directing events.
- Assists with providing academic interventions to incoming and currently enrolled Academic Support Program Â鶹´«Ã½s. Identifies and addresses institutional practices and policies that negatively impact Â鶹´«Ã½ success.
- Hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises Â鶹´«Ã½ employees.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Two years' relevant experience.
- Experience with advising.
- Experience teaching and working with historically underserved and first-generation Â鶹´«Ã½ populations.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
