General summary

Provides administrative support to the University’s Upward Bound grant program and assists with coordinating college visits with prospecting Â鶹´«Ã½s and families.

Major duties

  • Oversees tutoring for Pre-College Programs. Visits tutoring sites to monitor and assess operations.
  • Coordinates college visits for pre-college participants.
  • Coordinates travel arrangements.
  • Leads initiatives to expand pre-college programming for the University.
  • Administers the Upward Bound grant program budget. Forecasts expenditures and prepares annual and monthly budget reports.
  • Provides administrative support for the supervisor, including scheduling appointments, and maintaining departmental supplies.
  • Maintains confidential and sensitive Â鶹´«Ã½ and office information.
  • Assists in resolving Â鶹´«Ã½ issues that are presented to supervisor.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises Â鶹´«Ã½ employees.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Some college coursework from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • One year's relevant experience.
  • Experience with office management.
  • Working knowledge of grant management.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Working knowledge of purchasing.
  • Working knowledge of facility functions.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
