General summary
Responsible for the management of the cashiering office staff and timely and accurate payment processing for the University.
Major duties
- Provides direct management of the University's cashiering operations.
- Prepares cash flow analyses and projections, and other projects as directed.
- Monitors integrity of information flow between lock box, integrated voice response system, billing/scheduling statements, and web application with the University's general ledger and Â鶹´«Ã½ information system.
- Maintains security of cashier area, vault and Â鶹´«Ã½ information system screen access.
- Establishes policies and procedures for all cashiering functions.
- Supervises administrative staff.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Three years' relevant experience.
- Supervisory experience or lead experience.
- Professional accounting or financial experience in one or more of the following areas: accounts receivable, accounts payable or disbursements, cashiering, collections, and customer service.
- Spreadsheet proficiency and accounting systems experience.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
