General summary
Supports new beginning Â鶹´«Ã½s by providing assistance and information regarding fitness and wellness coaching as part of the empowering futures navigator network. Engages expertise with targeted Â鶹´«Ã½ populations to encourage a sense of belonging, thriving, and success.
Major duties
- Collaborates with other University units and community partners to develop and implement resolutions for Â鶹´«Ã½s.
- Provides support to help Â鶹´«Ã½s navigate all aspects of entry, assimilation, retention, and graduation related to college life. Performs periodic assessments and monitors progress. Promotes the personal and academic success and well-being of Â鶹´«Ã½s with emphasis on historically marginalized communities.
- Utilizes wellness and essential needs models to inform and guide comprehensive programs and services for Â鶹´«Ã½s in need. Facilitates coaching sessions with Â鶹´«Ã½s seeking to enhance their well-being through self-directed, lasting changes aligned with their values. Leads a coaching program for Â鶹´«Ã½s in collaboration with multiple units.
- Leads and develops the outreach and implementation of fitness and wellness resources and assessment tools to the campus community.
- Tracks Â鶹´«Ã½ data and communication among the navigation network. Manages data for program assessment and performance. Develops, prepares, and maintains Â鶹´«Ã½ data. Evaluates and recommends improvements to program operations.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- One year's relevant experience.
- Experience working with a diverse college Â鶹´«Ã½ population.
- Experience with program development, implementation and coaching.
- Experience coordinating Â鶹´«Ã½ success and life skills activities.
- Demonstrated experience as a strong Â鶹´«Ã½ advocate.
- Ability to collaborate with others.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal skills.
- Office software skills, including word-processing, presentations and spreadsheets.
- Experience using and querying databases.
- Experience planning and supervising fitness regimens, tracking fitness and performance goals.
- Experience helping Â鶹´«Ã½s achieve a healthy lifestyle.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
