General summary

Advances Â鶹´«Ã½ retention and graduation by providing Â鶹´«Ã½ support as part of the Navigator Network. Oversees the Navigator program. Identifies, supports and assists Â鶹´«Ã½s through proactive outreach and connections to campus resources.

Major duties

  • Collaborates with other university units and community partners to develop and implement resolutions for Â鶹´«Ã½s.
  • Supports Â鶹´«Ã½s in navigating college life, from entry to graduation. Conducts periodic assessments and tracks progress. Promotes the personal and academic success and well-being of Â鶹´«Ã½s. Assists with connecting Â鶹´«Ã½s to resources on campus to aid their success.
  • Develops, prepares, and maintains Â鶹´«Ã½ data. Evaluates and recommends improvements to program operations.
  • Works collaboratively within the Navigation Network. Integrates with Navigation Specialists across Vice Presidential units.
  • Assists with all marketing related to the program. Updates program communications and website.
  • Engages in strategic planning and decision-making activities related to Â鶹´«Ã½ satisfaction, retention, and graduation rates.
  • Resolves institutional practices and policies that negatively impact Â鶹´«Ã½ success.
  • Develops Â鶹´«Ã½ employee policies and procedures. Recruits, hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises Â鶹´«Ã½ staff.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Three years’ relevant experience.
  • Supervisory or lead experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with Â鶹´«Ã½ support and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and provide culturally sensitive, focused solutions within a large, complex environment.
  • Commitment to individual Â鶹´«Ã½ success and Â鶹´«Ã½ services.
  • Demonstrated interest, skills, and experience in working with diverse groups.

Required other

  • Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including weekends.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
