General summary

Directs operations and outreach for the Autism Center for Excellence. Provides individual treatment to clients.

Major duties

  • Develops and maintains billing and financial systems to ensure accuracy and integrity. Resolves claim disputes, and creates financial reports for the university and governmental audits.
  • Develops business plans for short- and long-term center options, interfaces with Medical Directors to advocate for services and removal of treatment barriers. Collaborates with state leaders and legislature on issues related to autism diagnosis, treatment and services.
  • Coordinates insurance contracts and negotiates reimbursement rates and single-case agreements for clients.
  • Serves as compliance and security officer for the center. Conducts operational analyses and develops systems to ensure compliance with state of Michigan and federal regulations. Develops policies and procedures.
  • Responds to referrals and inquiries about services. Conducts tours and intake meetings for new clients.
  • Provides and maintains user access to technology systems ensure all devices are maintained in good working order and troubleshoot as needed.
  • Provides case consultation for clients to assist with access to services in schools. Provides treatment to individuals with Autism or other developmental disabilities and oversight to behavior technicians providing services.
  • Represents Kalamazoo Autism Center in local, regional, and national conferences through dissemination of best practices. Assists with fundraising Â鶹´«Ã½. Seeks and obtains grant funding for treatment and organizational systems research Â鶹´«Ã½ that impact client outcomes.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises staff and Â鶹´«Ã½ employees.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Doctoral degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Three years' relevant experience.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of regulations and protocols governing care of and services for Autism.
  • Experience in budget forecasting and strategic planning.
  • Experience in the management or administration of programs for Autistic persons.
  • Experience securing and managing grant funding and associated projects.

Required other

  • SafetyCare Trainer Certification.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
