General summary
Provides comprehensive academic advising services to undergraduate Â鶹´«Ã½s.
Major duties
- Advises both enrolled and prospective undergraduate Â鶹´«Ã½s on University, College and department academic curricular requirements, including admissions and general education requirements and requirements for specific programs, majors and minors.
- Explains graduation requirements to Â鶹´«Ã½s and provides information about course prerequisites, alternatives and equivalents.
- Assists Â鶹´«Ã½s with registration and may coordinate course scheduling.
- Assists with projects as assigned.
- May assist in recruitment and retention efforts.
- May evaluate Â鶹´«Ã½-athlete and NCAA compliance issues with athletic department personnel.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- One year’s relevant experience.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Required other
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.

- Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
