General summary
Plans and manages development-focused programs designed to increase philanthropic support for funding priorities that are aligned with intercollegiate athletics strategic objectives.
Major duties
- Creates, implements, and evaluates a business plan that integrates annual, major, planned, and corporate giving to secure philanthropic support for intercollegiate athletics funding priorities.
- Successfully engages alumni, faculty, staff, and constituents in intercollegiate athletics development activities.
- Builds and sustains collaborative working relationships with intercollegiate athletics staff, team coaches, boosters, community advocates and University fundraising colleagues.
- Oversees budgets and prepares project plans containing key fundraising objectives and strategies. Implements project-based fundraising initiatives.
- Identifies, cultivates, and solicits a portfolio of individual and corporate major gift donors.
- Collaborates with internal partners to ensure coordinated solicitations are compliant with athletic association rules and regulations, with a special focus on name, image, and likeness regulations.
- May serve on relevant committees.
- Hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises staff and Â鶹´«Ã½ employees.
Minimum qualifications

Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Five years' relevant experience.
- Supervisory experience.
- Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, advertising, public relations, communications or related field.
- Willingness to travel on a frequent basis.
- Demonstrated professionalism.
- Capable of motivating volunteers and donors.
- Strong self-motivation.
- Ability to work as a team member in a complex organization
Required other
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to travel in-state and out-of-state.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
