General summary

Plans, evaluates, and executes major scholarship, recruitment, yield, and counselor events for the Office of Admissions. Serves prospective Â鶹´«Ã½s, families, and other key constituents by means of through event planning and group and individual interactions.

Major duties

  • Plans major on and off campus admissions recruitment and yield events including logistics, scheduling, registration, programming, and staffing.
  • Serves as the primary support for the campus visit experience. Gives campus visit presentations.
  • Manages a recruitment territory. Serves as the primary University liaison for Â鶹´«Ã½s, families, and high school counselors from that geographic area. Makes admission decisions and advocates for Â鶹´«Ã½s. Builds and maintains relationships with college counseling colleagues within that territory.
  • Works with department leadership to propose, develop, and enhance admissions events for prospective undergraduate Â鶹´«Ã½s. Develops communication plans to drive event attendance and encourage funnel conversion amongst invites and attendees.
  • Manages attendance and enrollment results from admissions recruitment and yield events. Develops reports that pertain to post-event analytics, annual reviews, and assessments.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates and supervises Â鶹´«Ã½ employees.

Minimum qualifications

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Two years' relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with Â鶹´«Ã½s, co-workers, and the general public.
  • Understanding of college admissions.
  • Understanding of event planning.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of Â鶹´«Ã½s, parents and community members.
  • Project management skills.

Required other

  • Ability to travel in-state and out-of-state. Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.

Desired qualifications

Desired education

  • Master’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Desired experience

  • Three years’ relevant experience.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoor and or any number of elements.
