General summary
Provides leadership, supervision and mentoring to resident managers in apartment complexes. Creates environments that positively influence Â鶹´«Ã½ learning and growth through program development, management of facility needs, conflict resolution efforts and Â鶹´«Ã½ behavior.
Major duties
- Participates in strategic planning process for resident life. Assists with the implementation of department and University sponsored retention efforts and programs.
- Advises and refers staff and Â鶹´«Ã½s on diverse issues ranging from academic support to suicide and mental health issues. Responds to emergency and crisis situations.
- Assists in administering the Â鶹´«Ã½ conduct process in conjunction with the assistant director for resident life Â鶹´«Ã½ conduct.
- Participates in the creation and implementation of professional development and training Â鶹´«Ã½.
- Manages departmental budgets and maintains supplies inventory. Reviews open work orders and warranty reports regularly.
- Collaborates with other Â鶹´«Ã½ affairs staff to address ongoing apartment maintenance and facility emergencies. Oversees regular health and safety inspections.
- Hires, trains, evaluates and supervises staff and Â鶹´«Ã½ employees.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Master’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Three years’ relevant experience.
- Formal training and experience in crisis intervention and conflict management.
- Supervisory or lead experience.
Required other
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including weekend and holiday rotation.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally preformed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
