General summary
Responsible for leading the University market research function. Provides insight in decision making and prioritization process for initiatives that will ensure the University’s long-term success.
Major duties
- Directs the market research team in the collection, analysis, and communication of market data relevant to initiatives to ensure long-term success. Provides input on the strategic planning process at multiple levels.
- Identifies Â鶹´«Ã½ for new program offerings and new potential business models, in collaboration with departments, chairs, deans, and senior administrators. Recommends potential priorities that align with the University’s strategic goals.
- Establishes and optimizes methodology for validating and prototyping new program ideas and education models. Tests for desirability, business viability, and technical feasibility.
- Directs cross-functional teams to implement customer intelligence gathering systems and overseeing the collection, analysis, and communication of relevant data and insights to various stakeholder groups.
- Responsible for overseeing and managing the market research budget including personnel, third-party data sources, and external research partners.
- Represents the department on University committees and workgroups.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Master’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Eight years’ relevant experience.
- Supervisory or lead experience.
- Experience in market research, product development, customer intelligence, and customer data analytics.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to working shared leadership and in a cross-functional team.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
