General summary

Directs University financial aid and scholarship operations, including oversight of staff and policies.

Major duties

  • Serves as the University’s authority on state and federal financial aid programs, including interpretation, implementation and compliance with regulations, procedures and eligibility requirements to ensure strict compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Directs University financial aid and scholarship policies. Oversees the writing and revision of procedures to ensure strict compliance with state and federal financial aid laws and regulations. Leads evaluation, development and revision of all University financial aid policies and procedures.
  • Monitors Â鶹´«Ã½ eligibility for financial aid and the delivery of financial aid funds. Ensures appropriate amounts are awarded. Maintains financial aid records in compliance with the law and appropriate auditing practices.
  • Monitors the development, production and submittal of required external reports. Oversees the return of Title IV funds process. Ensures communication documents are produced.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates and supervises department staff. Oversees the management and planning for the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
  • Oversees the communication content for the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, including the phone, print publications, letters, website, text and social media materials.
  • Prepares divisional budget that supports the University’s strategic plan. Develops short and long-term plans to support the University mission and meet state and federal requirements.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Five years' relevant experience.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and institutional financial aid regulations and guidelines.
  • Budget management experience.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
