General summary
Coordinates and manages Â鶹´«Ã½ conduct processes and staff. Oversees recruiting, hiring, training, and processes of Hall Directors and Resident Assistants. Assist with summer operations.
Major duties
- Decides on upper-level Â鶹´«Ã½s conduct hearings at residence hall, on campus apartment, and campus level.
- Develops department evaluations and implementation for Resident Assistants semi-annually. Develop and implement staffing-related policies and procedures.
- Coordinates, develops, and assumes responsibility for all facets of Â鶹´«Ã½ staff training for Resident Assistants, Resident Managers, and Learning Community Assistants along with other Assistant Director.
- Coordinates summer orientation housing, staffing parent mixers and other orientation events.
- Collaborates with several campus partners to develop training sessions for staff members.
- Serves as liaison between housing and other University departments for all Â鶹´«Ã½ conduct matters.
- Administers Â鶹´«Ã½ conduct database for on-campus residents in partnership with other University departments. Trains all housing staff in conduct process and use of conduct database.
- Conducts annual review of all the department’s conduct processes and updates as needed.
- Serves as liaison for housing on the Emergency Intervention Team, including providing intervention and support for crises and other issues via campus-wide on-call schedule.
- Hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises staff and Â鶹´«Ã½ employees.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Three years’ relevant experience required.
- Supervisory experience.
- Experience adjudicating conduct hearings.
- Formal training and experience in crisis intervention and conflict management.
Required other
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
