General summary
Provides communications and public relations support for the department or college.
Major duties
- Assists with communications, marketing promotions, public relations, development of promotional material and social media management.
- Provides event planning support, typically of a routine or repetitive nature. May support a first-time event.
- Coordinates communication regarding office functions and support services within and outside the university, particularly for faculty, Â鶹´«Ã½s and community partners.
- Assists with responding to media requests.
- May provide guidance and direction to Â鶹´«Ã½ employees.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- One year's relevant experience.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting/moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors and/or any number of elements.
