General summary

Provides academic support and learning initiatives in residence halls. Coordinates department activities with assessment, recruitment and marketing, programming, and Â鶹´«Ã½ engagement.

Major duties

  • Oversees academic support and learning initiatives. Guides hall staff in the development, maintenance, and growth of residential living-learning communities and campus stakeholder relationships. Develops academic partnerships and services for residence halls.
  • Facilitates Â鶹´«Ã½ recruitment and retention efforts with other offices. Coordinates departmental marketing efforts.
  • Supervises all staff related to Living Learning Communities and academic support initiatives. Executes learning community Â鶹´«Ã½ staff selection and training, and coordinates ongoing development and evaluation processes.
  • Leads assessment efforts for the department, including creating and conducting assessments and analyzing data. Utilizes assessment results to develop and apply best practices and shape decision-making. Promotes assessment activities and results.
  • Promotes Â鶹´«Ã½ engagement. Guides department programmatic and community-building efforts including development, training, and execution of a departmental programming model. Oversees the department’s use of the University event management and attendance tracking platform.
  • Participates in on-call duty rotation for residence halls and on-campus apartments to handle after-hours crises and emergencies.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises Â鶹´«Ã½ employees.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Three years' relevant experience.
  • Formal training and experience in crisis intervention and conflict management.
  • Supervisory experience.

Required other

  • Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including weekend and holiday rotation.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
