General summary
Manages event planning and production for the Â鶹´«Ã½ center.
Major duties
- Manages event planning and production in the Â鶹´«Ã½ center, including oversight and management of reservations and the catering department.
- Provides strategic direction and guidance to event services processes and staff.
- Administers conference activities inside and outside of the Â鶹´«Ã½ center. Develops and solicits conference revenue generating Â鶹´«Ã½ to utilize the Â鶹´«Ã½ center's meeting and event capacities and catering capabilities. Administers event and catering software.
- Collaborates with other facility users to provide high level event planning assistance and guidance.
- Serves on the Â鶹´«Ã½ center management team to manage and coordinate strategic initiatives, goals and ensure that University standards are met.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Five years' relevant experience.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
Required other
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including weekends and holidays.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
