General summary
Plans and manages custodial operations.
Major duties
- Hires, trains, evaluates performance and supervises staff and Â鶹´«Ã½ employees in compliance with a collective bargaining agreement and University policies and procedures.
- Plans and coordinates support services for special events, communicating with event organizers to evaluate service needs and schedules or to resolve issues.
- Documents procedures and participates in developing training materials.
- Inspects work for quality, identifies issues and works with supervisors to implement corrections.
- Monitors compliance with safety procedures and quality standards.
- Maintains or reviews records of personnel actions such as safety or accident reports, disciplinary records and workers compensation processes. Ensures consistent application of rules and standards.
- Evaluates and updates work schedules to balance work loads while maintaining service standards.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Three years’ relevant experience.
- Supervisory experience.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Required other
- Relevant industry certification, or the ability to obtain the certification within six months from hire date.
- Valid driver's license.

- Supervisory experience in a collective bargaining environment.
- Experience administering a collective bargaining agreement.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is performed with exposure to any number of elements which may occasionally require some precautions such as safety glasses, protective clothing, ear protection, etc.
