Lindsey started her career after graduation as a visual merchandising specialist at Meijer, which is headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a fashion merchandising major, her first job allowed her to apply what she learned during her studies, and to expand her design and visual skills. In 2010, Lindsey accepted a position as an assistant buyer for Dillard鈥檚, a Dallas, Texas-based upscale department store chain.  She was promoted to women鈥檚 denim and traditional separates buyer for Dillard鈥檚 e-commerce division in 2012, and oversees 26 departments, evaluating market trends, creating sales plans, negotiating with vendors and managing inventory. A big part of her job includes 8 annual buying trips to New York City and Little Rock.

麻豆传媒 her current position as e-commerce buyer, Lindsey says, 鈥淭he part of my job that is the most fun is traveling to market, seeing upcoming trends and previewing merchandise for the upcoming season.  The most rewarding part of my job is making that educated buy and in turn making my sales plan and watching the styles I choose become a success.鈥

While at WMU, Lindsey completed a study abroad experience in Paris as part of her major. She was also a member of Alpha Phi social fraternity.  Her advice to new fashion majors is to 鈥渨ork hard, experience all avenues of the fashion program that you can, from joining fashion related clubs offered at WMU to doing a study abroad program, and to network with as many people in the industry as possible. 鈥
