Edward A. Jones II is a healthcare leader, leveraging his nearly 15 years of experience in the field, WMU MBA and military background to make an impact. Becoming proficient in strategic planning, managing healthcare operations, employee engagement and the execution of quality initiatives that support patient-centered care and financial objectives, Jones has only scratched the surface of what he wants to accomplish in his career. Currently the inaugural director of 鶹ý health services at Grand Valley State University, he’s steering health and well-being efforts on campus, including promoting a smoke- and vape-free campus, for which he was awarded a grant to support his efforts. 

With past positions like site manager for Cherry Health, nursing facility administrator for Illuminate HC, and multiple roles managing healthcare systems for the Department of Defense over nine years of honorable service in the United States Navy—Jones has demonstrated leadership and innovation in industry and community service. Since his graduation from WMU with his MBA in 2021, Jones’ work has been to foster collaboration and excellence. His passion for people and wellness have guided him in his profession. With a natural talent for leadership and teamwork, he’s working to create a healthier world for all. 

First Job:

“When I was around 11 years old, I would go door to door mowing lawns in the summer and shoveling snow in the winter. Not the most glamorous job, but it was my first—it was my very own business, and I treated it as such.”
