The Hungry Traveler

Foodservice National Sales Training Manager,

Grant Heselschwerdt is hungry for adventure. Holding six positions at Hormel Foods across five different cities after graduating from WMU with a bachelor’s degree in sales and business marketing proves that to be true. Most recently, Grant relocated to Austin, Minnesota, to lead the Foodservice Division training program for 225 sales team members in his role as national sales training manager.

Working at Hormel Foods was an easy choice for Grant; he grew up raising beef cattle in his family’s business, Napoleon Livestock. His hard-working background in agriculture and past leadership roles, many from his time at WMU, have been important experiences that have allowed him to thrive at Hormel Foods.

Heselschwerdt’s career has been fueled by his love for food and his deep roots in agriculture, and he is always up to share both with others. He hosts the Road Warriors Podcast, an internal podcast for the Hormel Foodservice Division.

Most Helpful WMU Course and Best Learning Experience at WMU: “Studying abroad in Germany provided exposure to a completely different culture, taught me how to travel and negotiate globally, created deep new friendships, and, most importantly, provided an unmistakable transition from 鶹ý to young professional. I will always be grateful to Dr. Eckert for this impactful experience.”
