Breaker of Barriers

Senior Talent Engagement Specialist,

Shaquille Anthony is all about putting people first. From day one as a human resource management major, he knew he wanted to focus on creating equitable access to employment 鶹ý—especially for those at risk of being overlooked in the talent pool. This passion would set the tone for a unique career path that combines expertise in workforce development and skills in HR to break down employment barriers and leverage top talent.

As senior talent engagement specialist at SpartanNash, Anthony leads community outreach efforts and helps build the organization’s future employee pipeline. Prior to this role, he was responsible for creating the Returning Citizen Workforce Development Program and English Proficiency Workforce Development Program at Spectrum Health, building a viable pipeline for the organization and debunking myths about vulnerable and disadvantaged populations.

Anthony also engages in philanthropic efforts. His most recent endeavor was establishing a scholarship at Muskegon Heights High School, his alma mater.
