Giving

A culture of giving back to the community

Since 1965, the department has taken great pride in our strong sense of community. Simply said, we look after one another, a value exemplified by our generous donors, who provide financial resources to support our Â鶹´«Ã½s. In 2023 alone, the department awarded nearly $30,000 in direct Â鶹´«Ã½ scholarships and other financial support that furthered our educational and research missions.

Student Scholarships

A college education is expensive. These funds put scholarship money directly into a Â鶹´«Ã½'s account to help cover course fees, tuition, and other educational expenses.

Students often need extra assistance. These funds help Â鶹´«Ã½s realize their educational and research goals by paying for field work, travel, lab experiments, professional conferences, and more.

Special Projects

The department supports a number of educational outreach projects, including the Schmaltz Rock and Mineral Museum, our CoreKids outreach program, and Dinosaur Park. Giving to these funds help support these efforts.
