Finance Scholarships

You’ve worked hard to earn top grades, so when it comes to financing your education, your accomplishments can be rewarded through finance and commercial law scholarships. Western scholarships are based on academic record and financial need.

Finance Scholarships

  • Must be a full-time B.B.A. Â鶹´«Ã½ majoring in finance.
  • Student must demonstrate financial need.
  • One-time non-renewable scholarship award.
  • Award amount is $5,000.
  • Must be a full-time B.B.A. or MBA Â鶹´«Ã½ majoring in finance.
  • Preference given to members of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
  • Participation in the University's study abroad program is considered.
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA (B.B.A.) and 3.0 (MBA) at the time of application.
  • This is a one-time non-renewable scholarship award.
  • Award amount is $500.
  • Must be a full-time B.B.A. Â鶹´«Ã½ majoring in personal financial planning, or expressing a strong interest in the program.
  • Preference shall be given to any Â鶹´«Ã½ from the state of Illinois, and secondarily to any Â鶹´«Ã½ from Kalamazoo County.
  • One-time non-renewable scholarship award.
  • Award amount is $500.
  • Full-time B.B.A. or MBA Â鶹´«Ã½ majoring in finance.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA at the time of application.
  • Preference given to transfer Â鶹´«Ã½ from Henry Ford Community College and secondly from any other community college.
  • Preference given to member of Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity.
  • One-time non-renewable scholarship award.
  • Award amount is $500.
  • Must be a full-time B.B.A. or MBA Â鶹´«Ã½ majoring or concentrating in finance.
  • Preference shall be given to Â鶹´«Ã½s who demonstrate financial need.
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA (B.B.A.) and 3.0 (MBA) at the time of application.
  • One-time non-renewable scholarship award.
  • Award amount is $7,000.

The CFA Institute is offering Â鶹´«Ã½  for the CFA exam. The scholarship waives the enrollment fee and substantially discounts the registration fee for the exam, which includes the study materials.

Scholarship qualifications

  • Must be full-time WMU Â鶹´«Ã½ who expects to graduate with a bachelor's degree within two years.
  • Must be full-time or part-time graduate Â鶹´«Ã½.

How to apply

  • Applicants will be interviewed by the sponsoring professors from the department.

  • For WMU Â鶹´«Ã½s planning to major in finance or personal financial planning.
  • Preference given to Â鶹´«Ã½s in under-represented groups.
  • Eight scholarship awards of $12,400 each, renewable three times for a total of four years.
